Arsenal are emerging as real contenders to land highly sought-after Italian centre-back Riccardo Calafiori.

Ajax left-back Jorrel Hato remains on Arsenal’s radar but the Gunners appear to be stepping up their interest in Riccardo Calafiori.

What sources have said about Calafiori to Arsenal
The outlet reports that sources close to the Calafiori deal have stated that Arsenal are now ready to launch a bid for the defender. It’s claimed that the offer will be worth in the region of €50-55m (£42.3m-£46.5m).
While the Gunners face stern competition for his signature, with Chelsea, Juventus and Napoli also interested, Calafiori is keen on a move to north London.
Talks between Bologna and Arsenal are said to be at an advanced stage.

Calafiori would be a statement signing for Arsenal
Off the back of an impressive Euro 2024 with Italy, Calafiori certainly isn’t short of interest, particularly in the Premier League. The centre-back has received admiring glances from Tottenham and Liverpool.
While William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes’ partnership seems set for the future, Calafiori would provide stern competition on the left-hand side.
The Italian is also exceedingly comfortable on the ball and can operate at left-back, which would provide Arteta with real quality depth.
Arsenal have missed out on the Premier League title on two occasions now and that is partly down to a lack of real quality outside the starting XI. So, in terms of defensive adding to defensive strength, Calafiori ticks plenty of boxes for Arteta.
