What some Eintracht Frankfurt fans were spotted doing towards Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario in Europa League clash
Tottenham Hotspur are through to the Europa League semi-finals after getting the better of Eintracht Frankfurt in Thursday night’s quarter-final second leg.
The tie was evenly poised after Spurs and Eintracht drew 1-1 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the first leg.
The second leg was a tense affair, with Tottenham taking the lead in the 43rd minute and holding on for the rest of the match.
Spurs were awarded a penalty after Eintracht goalkeeper Kaia Santos clattered into James Maddison, and Dominic Solanke converted from the spot.
As the game wore on, tension rose among the home fans as their team’s participation in this season’s Europa League – continued to slip away.
Indeed, Sky Sports reporter Gary Cotterill noticed what was happening towards Guglielmo Vicario as he took his time late on in the game.

Eintracht Frankfurt fans delivered ‘whistles and abuse’ towards Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario
Midway through the second half, Cotterill noted how there had been a few instances of Eintracht fans going “crazy” at Vicario for perceived time-wasting.
“A few times now the home supporters have gone crazy towards Vicario for time-wasting,” Cotterill said on .
“Whistles and abuse and gestures towards the Tottenham ‘keeper.”
Cotterill then defended Vicario, going on to say: “But he’s not really that guilty of gamesmanship.
“I’d expect him to take even longer with his kicks than he is. And let’s face it, Spurs aren’t exactly under the cosh.
“Ekitike stayed down looking for a penalty when not hurt. Now who’s wasting time?”
