What Sheffield United’s coaching staff think of Joel Piroe at Leeds after he’s offered in swap deal for Gustavo Hamer

Leeds United are pushing to complete a late deal for Gustavo Hamer and their latest offer for the Sheffield United star includes Joel Piroe.

Leeds United started the summer window terribly with Daniel Farke’s squad being picked apart by Premier League sides.

However, Leeds have now completed a deal for Manor Solomon and are looking to end the window on a high with another signing.

The Yorkshire club set their sights on Sheffield United playmaker Gustavo Hamer but their £13million bid was rejected by the Blades.

However, Leeds are confident they have turned Hamer’s head and returned with a new proposal for their Yorkshire rivals to consider.

Leeds United submit Joel Piroe swap offer

As per , Leeds United’s new offer for Hamer includes Joel Piroe plus cash, with the Whites eager to offload the Dutch forward.

Leeds only signed Piroe last summer in a £10million deal from Swansea, but he has fallen down Farke’s pecking order at Elland Road and could now leave this summer.

However, the report adds that Sheffield United‘s coaching staff – including manager Chris Wilder – are not interested in a deal involving Piroe, as he would not fit in with their current needs.

They continue to suggest that there is a strong suspicion among chiefs at Bramall Lane that the low-ball bid from Leeds was designed to unsettle Hamer and see him look to force a move.

Leeds United must increase bid

It seems as though Leeds are going to have to cough up more cash if they plan on landing Hamer before Friday’s deadline.

The issue with selling a plethora of players in big-money deals to Premier League clubs is that the entirety of the Championship now knows Leeds have money to spend.

Piroe is clearly not someone on Sheffield United’s radar and the only way they plan on letting Hamer leave is if their valuation is met.
