What Real Madrid have now done in talks to sign Martin Zubimendi as Andrea Berta thinks he’ll sign for Arsenal

Despite there still being plenty of time left before the summer transfer window begins, Arsenal and Real Madrid seem extremely keen on making Martin Zubimendi one of their marquee signings.

Andrea Berta is confident Arsenal will sign Zubimendi and even reckons that he will be the Gunners’ first addition in the summer.

However, Real Madrid have stepped up talks to sign Zubimendi — who they internally view as the heir to Toni Kroos.

The Spanish international is a wanted man and rightfully so as he continues to cement his status as one of Europe’s premier holding midfielders.

Whether Martin Zubimendi wishes to stay in Spain and sign for Real Madrid or depart his homeland to play for Arsenal is a decision that will have fans from both clubs waiting to discover with bated breath.

Real Madrid explain Arsenal target Martin Zubimendi their plans for him

However, journalist Santi Aouna has bad news for Arsenal supporters as he revealed that Zubimendi prefers to join Real Madrid this summer.

Furthermore, Real Madrid are believed to have explained their plans to Zubimendi in talks to secure his signature — which could also potentially prove to be a blow for Arsenal.

Arsenal are still waiting for Zubimendi’s approval but the internal belief within the Emirates Stadium aligns with Andrea Berta’s that he is set to head to N5 in the summer.

Real Sociedad apparently think Zubimendi is Arsenal-bound as they demand a £50 million fee for his sale unless Real Madrid swoop in and are prepared to even go above and beyond their asking price.

What Mikel Arteta has been doing to seal Martin Zubimendi move

TBR Football disclosed in February that Arsenal are wary of Real Madrid’s pursuit for Zubimendi.

However, Mikel Arteta has been messaging Zubimendi for ages to persuade him to make the move to the Gunners.

Zubimendi seemingly admires Arteta as Arsenal became the favourites to sign him in the first place due to the FA Cup winner’s influence.
