What Radu Dragusin did on the way to the airport to confirm his move to Tottenham
Tottenham finally got a deal for defender Radu Dragusin over the line this week as Ange Postecoglou added to his squad again.
Dragusin became the second signing in a week after Spurs first landed Timo Werner. The Romanian could even be straight into the team to face Manchester United tomorrow, with his paperwork expected to be done.
It was a drawn out saga in the end for Spurs and Dragusin. Bayern Munich and Napoli had both threatened to derail the deal, with the German side actually feeling they’d got a deal done.

However, Dragusin opted for Spurs, and according to , the defender only actually made his mind up fully on the way to the airport.
“Dragusin himself stayed up all night to weigh up the final decision of where to go, according to his adviser Florian Manea. It was only when Dragusin and Manea were on their way to the airport a few hours later that they finally made their minds up and told Bayern they would not be coming to Bavaria,” Pitt-Brooke wrote.
Tottenham will feel like Dragusin is a big win
Beating a team like Bayern Munich to a signing is always going to feel big for any team. But for Tottenham, who maybe aren’t quite competing for the world’s very best players, it will feel even bigger.
For Dragusin to choose them over the German giants is a big nod to the work Ange Postecoglou is doing at the club and direction it’s going.
Clearly, there was something in the sell from Ange that swayed Dragusin and the fact he’s kept his word will also impress the Spurs boss.
Along with Werner, and potentially the addition of Conor Gallagher, this is looking like a good window for Tottenham.
And if they can win tomorrow at United with Dragusin playing, their pursuit of the Romanian will feel vindicated immediately.
