What people at Man United think about Manuel Ugarte already after his first few months at Old Trafford

Manuel Ugarte has become one of Manchester United’s most impressive performers over the last two months.

The Red Devils have had a difficult season. Erik ten Hag was at the helm at the start, and the performances and results under him were terrible.

Ruben Amorim replaced the Dutchman, and his impact is already evident. Yes, United have lost games under him too, but you can see a system and philosophy.

The new Manchester United boss has also brought the best out of a few players – Ugarte is perhaps the biggest example.

What people at Man United are saying about Manuel Ugarte

Manchester United signed Ugarte for an initial fee of £42 million last summer ().

The Uruguay international made a brilliant name for himself at Sporting CP under Amorim, but he wasn’t always a regular at Paris Saint-Germain.

United saw an opportunity to sign him and they pounced.

A lot of questions were asked of Ugarte after his difficult start to life in England under Ten Hag. He came under immense criticism at times.

However, since Amorim took over, Ugarte has been outstanding, and that £42 million United paid for him is looking more and more like a bargain every week.

Dean Jones has revealed on that the Uruguayan midfielder is an ‘integral’ part of Amorim’s plans, and there is no chance that he will leave in this window.

Furthermore, the journalist has revealed in his report that Manchester United sources describe Ugarte as ‘one of the Red Devils’ most impactful signings in years’.

Manchester United could sign another player who previously worked under Amorim

Ugarte’s performances and consistency have gone up a level since Amorim took charge. The midfielder knows his manager’s system really well and that has helped him adapt.

The key to success now for United’s players is to fully understand Amorim’s philosophy. He is not going to move away from his 3-4-3 system, so all new signings will be players who can fit into that style of play.

That’s why Manchester United are keen to sign Nuno Mendes from PSG, TBR Football exclusively revealed at the start of January.

We can further confirm that Nunes wants to join Manchester United as well and has indicated the same to his current employers.

Nunes has already played under Amorim at Sporting. He was excellent there, and we’re sure he will perform brilliantly if he moves to Old Trafford in the coming weeks.
