What Nikola Vlasic has said about ‘really loud’ Everton fans ahead of Goodison Park return
Nikola Vlasic is set to return to Everton tomorrow for the first time as an opposition player since he left Goodison Park for CSKA Moscow in 2018.
The Croatian had a difficult time at Everton. He only played a little over 1000 minutes of football for the Toffees and he was shipped out on loan to Russia. Vlasic made that move permanent in 2019 and became a real star in Moscow.
He scored 33 goals and provided 21 assists in 108 games for CSKA and that convinced West Ham that he was the right man for them. The Hammers are hoping that he can deliver this season and he’d love nothing more than a goal or two tomorrow.
Vlasic was quizzed about his return to Everton and the Croatian, surprisingly, claimed that he has good memories of his time there. He even heaped praise on the atmosphere at Goodison Park and admitted that the Hammers are in for a tough game.

The 24-year-old told : “I have good memories with Everton, but now I hope I will go there with West Ham and we will win this game.
“It’s always good memories and a good feeling to play there. Goodison Park is a difficult place to go.
“The fans are really loud, and they are helping their (players) all the game so it’ll be hard for us, but I think all the players here are used to that atmosphere. It’s hard at every away game, so there shouldn’t be any problems with that.”
Vlasic would love a goal at Goodison Park
Vlasic is yet to score or assist in West Ham United’s colours since joining them. He has played in his natural number 10 position and on both wings, and he is expected to take up one of those roles from the start tomorrow.
The Croatian’s only goal at Goodison Park came against Apollon Limassol in the Europa League back in 2017. He would’ve loved to score plenty more there, but he became a victim of a managerial change, and that all but ended his Toffees career.
Four years on now, Vlasic is a much better player. He has plenty of experience under his belt and with a bit more motivation than usual to have an impact tomorrow, it won’t be a surprise to see him get on the scoresheet.
