What Mohamed Salah was doing as Manchester City players argued before he scored his penalty at Anfield

Mohamed Salah scored yet another Premier League goal to help Liverpool see off Manchester City and cement their place at the top of the table.

Salah’s second half penalty put the gloss on a dominant performance from Liverpool, who had taken the lead early on through Cody Gakpo.

For Man City, it was a sixth straight defeat and a defeat that surely puts them completely out of contention for a fifth straight title.

Salah, of course, just continues to impress and while his goal came courtesy of the penalty spot, he was once again there when Liverpool needed him.

And quite brilliantly, amid the chaos of Man City players arguing about the penalty decision, Salah was the coolest man on the Anfield pitch.

How Mo Salah completely distracted himself before scoring his penalty against Man City

We’ve become accustomed to Salah scoring from the penalty spot and not making a mistake but it seems he is also very good at keeping his cool in the pressure moments.

Indeed, Vinnie O’Connor shared just what Salah was doing before the penalty, as he kept himself away from the melee around the referee.

“Mo Salah was calmly doing keeps-ups while City argued over the penalty and then he steps up and places it low to the right….it’s straight in the bottom corner and Anfield again roars.

“It looks like City will be 11 points off the pace tonight.”

Mo Salah is going to win Liverpool the title

Mohamed Salah has been so consistent since becoming a Liverpool player that we’ve almost got used to the fact that he’ll do something in most games.

Right now, Salah is on course to lead Liverpool to a second Premier League title and if it is to be his last year in England, it will be richly deserved.

Arne Slot seems to have come in for Jurgen Klopp and finely polished what was already an excellent team.

As it stands, it looks like there’s no stopping Liverpool and with Mo Salah in this form and mood, it’s going to take a minor miracle for anything to change.
