What Mikel Merino said to his new Arsenal teammates after being announced on Tuesday
Arsenal have now confirmed the signing of Mikel Merino as their second signing of the summer transfer window.
Mikel Arteta has been made to wait patiently for the next signing following the arrival of Riccardo Calafiori earlier in the summer.
And Arsenal have finally got their man in Merino with the midfielder landing in north London from Real Sociedad.
It was a move which left Sociedad frustrated over the weekend as Arsenal had taken their time to announce the Merino’s arrival.
However, Arsenal fans can now relax as they have got their new midfielder over the line and he has already met up with his teammates.

What Mikel Merino said to his Arsenal teammates
Although there is only a few days left in the summer transfer window, Arsenal’s business may not be concluded just yet.
Edu Gaspar is already believed to be working on Arsenal’s third potential signing of the market before end of play on Friday.
But for now, the Gunners will be making the most of their latest arrival as he looks to settle in ahead of their game on Saturday against Brighton & Hove Albion.

On Tuesday afternoon, Arsenal announced the signing of Merino and shared a video of the midfielder in a team meeting.
As Arteta spoke of the need to welcome him into the club, Merino also took the opportunity to share a message to his new teammates.
“Thank you all for the warm welcome, I’m very happy to be here with all of you,” said Merino.
“I’m just excited for this season, hopefully we can keep doing big things as you guys are doing. Just thank you!”
What next for Arsenal after signing Mikel Merino
Arsenal have now got two of their top targets over the line for the summer with just days remaining now in the market.
An interest few days await the Gunners with Edu working in the background on any potential opportunities.
With a defender and now a midfielder having been secured, a new forward is on the radar at Arsenal as their possible third signing.
However, it is yet to be seen as to what extreme Arsenal can spend over the remaining days in the window despite being in need of some attacking reinforcement.
