What Manchester United staff are now saying about Marcus Rashford behind the scenes

Manchester United staff want Marcus Rashford to be more willing to press and track back.

That is according to , which has noted what else United staff are saying about Rashford behind the scenes.

So, what has been reported about Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford? Let’s take a look.

Marcus Rashford needs to do more for Manchester United

Well, Manchester United are not having the best of times. While the Red Devils won against Chelsea in midweek, they went down 1-0 to Newcastle United at St. James’ Park in the Premier League last weekend.

Erik ten Hag’s side are unlikely to challenge for the Premier League title this season and could end up getting knocked out of the UEFA Champions League/

One of the United players who is struggling to play well consistently is Marcus Rashford. The England international forward had a really bad game against Newcastle and was even urged by a pundit to leave Old Trafford.

has reported how United staff view Rashford at the moment. The opinion is that the forward does care for his boyhood club, but he does need to improve on certain aspects of his game to play under manager Ten Hag.

The report states: “Club staff say Rashford carries the weight of negativity. He really cares when boyhood club United lose, and that is not the case for all who have been in that home dressing room over the past five years.

“Nevertheless, those who know Rashford accept body language is an issue this term. Those clips of him letting Livramento run away do not make good viewing, but they argue it was more a case of Rashford failing to spot danger quickly enough than not trying.

“For an attack-minded player, that phase of the game does not come naturally to him, even at age 26. Rashford will need to apply himself at pressing and tracking to regain a place in Ten Hag’s team.”

Marcus Rashford may not ever become world class

Much was made of Marcus Rashford when he first burst on the scene. He was quick and could take players on and did extremely well.

However, in recent years, Rashford has failed to progress and grow. Yes, there was a spell last season when he was superb, but at 26, he does not have the consistency that you need from a world-class player.

Rashford is not world class, and I think that he may not get to that level. He is 26 now and is about to enter his peak years. Now is the time for the England international forward to step up his game.
