‘Not a lot of players do that’: Leeds United’s new signing spotted making eye-catching decision after being subbed v Barnsley
Leeds United continued their fine form in midweek as they cruised into the next round of the EFL Cup with a 3-1 win against Barnsley at Elland Road.
Jesse Marsch used the game to give a number of younger and fringe players a chance in the XI and they didn’t let him down, as the likes of Summerville, Sinisterra , and Leo Hjelde all impressed on the night.

Of course, new signing Sinisterra got himself on the scoresheet with the opening goal. And speaking about Sinisterra on this week’s , host Matthew Lewis said he noticed the new signing doing something after he was taken off which shows just how much the players are enjoying life under Marsch.
“We were just talking before you came on the show and you guys outran Chelsea by 11km’s at the weekend. There has to be a buy in to do something like that, you all have to be fighting for each other,” Lewis said on the
“I noticed against Barnsley the other night when Sinisterra came off, he was walking to the bench and then he changed his mind and walked back to the touchline and gave Jesse a hug. Not a lot of players do that, that I’ve seen, they go straight off to the seat. It feels like everyone gets on really well.”
TBR’s View: Marsch Has Leeds Player Rocking
It was always going to be a hard act to follow Marcelo Bielsa but with time, Jesse Marsch seems to have got this group of Leeds players ticking along with a similar mindset.
The hard work is there and the performances are following as well at the moment. Marsch’s new signings are settling in well and there seems to be a real togetherness in the XI and squad in general.
For Marsch, all the signs are there that this could be a great season.
