‘What in the world’… Ian Wright still shocked by what happened at Tottenham last week
Ian Wright is still in shock about Eric Dier leaving Tottenham Hotspur and joining Bayern Munich last week.
There are a few crazy transfers that go through in every window, but we don’t think anyone saw Jordan Henderson going to Ajax, or in particular, Dier joining Bayern Munich. Wright can’t believe the latter.

Ian Wright shocked by Eric Dier joining Bayern Munich from Tottenham
Eric Dier spent close to a decade at Tottenham and was almost always a regular.
However, Ange Postecoglou clearly didn’t fancy him.
Dier just couldn’t get into the Tottenham side. Even injuries to Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven didn’t bring him back into contention.
Naturally, people thought Dier would leave in January for a club smaller than Tottenham. However, he went and joined Bayern Munich, who are one of the biggest sides in the world.
That was a big shock to many people, and Wright has now brought the topic back up while discussing Jordan Henderson‘s move to Ajax this week.
He said on the : “Amazing. It’s like Eric Dier, can’t get into the Tottenham side, (he then) signs for Bayern Munich. What in the world?!”

Dier is yet to make his Bayern debut
Dier was in the stands when Bayern Munich beat Hoffenheim last weekend – he watched his mate Harry Kane score in the 90th minute.
The Englishman has trained under Thomas Tuchel in Germany all week, and following Matthijs De Ligt‘s injury, the door has opened for him to make his debut.
Bayern take on Werder Bremen tomorrow as they aim to close the gap between themselves and Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen.
If Dier starts and makes a difference, he will become an instant hero among Bayern Munich fans.
