‘What I’m hearing’… Fabrizio Romano has update after Aston Villa linked with signing ‘explosive’ player this month

Fabrizio Romano has issued an update on whether Aston Villa will sign Lazio winger Felipe Anderson this month.

The former West Ham attacker has been linked with a return to the Premier League with Unai Emery’s side, with Anderson’s contract with Lazio due to expire at the end of this season.

, Anderson has been in impressive form for Lazio this season, with the Rome-based club impressing in the UEFA Champions League.

Yet according to Romano , Anderson won’t be on the move in January, with Villa yet to make a concrete move to sign the 30-year-old attacker this month.

The Italian transfer guru said when asked about Anderson’s future and Villa’s interest in the winger: “From what I’m hearing, Juventus are interested in Anderson.

“So, I think Juventus will be in the mix to sign him as a free agent. For Aston Villa, yes, they have been following the player many times, but I’m not aware of any concrete negotiations yet.”

Anderson is back to his best this season at Lazio, with the winger finally shaking off the torrid form that the Brazilian endured during his troubled spell at West Ham.

And whilst a return to the Premier League might be tempting for the South American winger, Anderson likely knows deep down that he isn’t suited to the English game.

Moreover, Villa themselves can do a lot better than signing Anderson this month, with the Premier League title hopefuls having plenty of options to add to their attacking ranks.

Indeed, whilst Emery has worked magic at Villa Park in the last 18 months, the Birmingham-based side can do a lot better than Anderson, who he himself might be against a return to the Premier League.
