What happened with Tottenham fans and Pedro Porro after shock loss to Ipswich

It was another weekend to forget for Tottenham Hotspur who are going into the final international break of the year slumped down in 10th.

The second season is supposed to be the year when Ange Postecoglou’s side kick on and show their progression.

But this Tottenham side look a long way off the pace with six points dropped now against Crystal Palace and Ipswich Town.

Ian Wright tore into Spurs after their loss to Ipswich with the Lilywhites showing a real lack of consistency in the Premier League.

And it seems it is not just Wright who let his thoughts be known with Pedro Porro experiencing it first hand from the fans in north London.

Pedro Porro shocked by Tottenham fans’ anger after Ipswich loss

It should be no real surprise but it seems as if Porro was left stunned by the response which the loss on the weekend drew from the fans.

Porro has received interest from Real Madrid of late but performances like Sunday do not reflect well on any of the Spurs players.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Alasdair Gold shared what he had heard from some who were in the south stand on Sunday afternoon.

“I understand, from some people who were in the south stand that Porro got a little bit of anger from the south stand when he tried [to applaud],” said Gold.

“Frustrated fans. You can kind of understand why people are frustrated, but yeah, I think they kind of let their feelings be known to him which maybe surprised him a little bit.”

Of course, Spurs fans now want to see some silverware secured but the points dropped against Palace and Ipswich could have seen Tottenham go into this break in third spot of the table.

Pedro Porro shared social media message after Sunday

For most of the season now Tottenham fans have seen their side win one then lose one in what looks an extremely open Premier League.

The Spaniard has been one of Spurs’ better players this season, and Archie Gray has praised Porro heavily.

It may not have been one of Porro’s finest displays but he did take to Instagram after the game to share his apologies.

“As a team we have to take accountability for these results. We must come together to be better and will now look forward to coming back stronger after the break,” he said.

“The effort you put into supporting us must be reflected in our effort on the pitch and it is something we will never take for granted. See you after the break.”
