What Gabriel Martinelli told Emi Martinez before scoring Arsenal’s winner last night

Arsenal star Gabriel Martinelli has revealed what he told Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez before he scored the winner at the Emirates last night.
The Gunners have now won five in five and are on top of the league table. They dominated the first half against Villa yesterday, but they were made to work hard in the second half. Martinelli saved the day.
What Gabriel Martinelli told Emi Martinez before scoring Arsenal’s winner last night
After Gabriel Jesus scored the opener for Arsenal, a win seemed a formality. Aston Villa looked awful, but a miraculous goal straight from a corner from Douglas Luiz brought them back into the game.
Arsenal had to respond after struggling to score the second goal. Thanks to Martinelli, who started and finished off the move, the Gunners’ lead was restored, and they won the game.
In an interview after the win, Martinelli revealed that he had already told his good pal Martinez that he would score past him last night. For long periods of the game, it looked like that wouldn’t happen, but the young Brazilian did it in the end.
Martinelli said about Martinez, as per : “He’s a very good friend of mine. I told him that I was going to score – and I did it! I’m so happy with the goal and the team performance.
“I think I got the ball wide. I played it to Tomi, he played it to Bukayo. He crossed and I was there. I just tried to put it in and it worked.”

TBR View:
Martinelli was absolutely fantastic last night. The Brazilian was a constant threat throughout the game, and he could easily have scored one or two more goals.
Just before half-time, Martinelli struck a delightful volley that looked destined to find the top corner. Everybody at the Emirates stood up in anticipation of the ball hitting the back of the net, but Martinez pulled off an incredible save.
The Argentine, who spent a decade as an Arsenal player, knows everyone at the club really well. He had his when the Gabon star was still at the club, and it looks like Martinelli is carrying that forward.
Martinez was arguably at fault for both goals, but it’s Martinelli’s strike that would’ve frustrated him the most as it cost his side a very valuable point.
