What David Sullivan privately thinks about bringing David Moyes back to West Ham to replace Julen Lopetegui

Julen Lopetegui’s future as West Ham United boss remains up in the air.

The Irons parted ways with David Moyes at the 🌞end of the 2023/24 season. They wante🦩d to take the club in a different direction and Lopetegui became the chosen one.

There was a lot of expectations over what the Spaniard would bring to the London Stadium, but West Ham have had a terrible start to the campaign. They have won just five of their first 15 games in the league,🎉 and that has led to calls for Lopetegui to be sacked.

The win over Wolves has kept Lopetegui safe for now, but things could change very quickly, and reports have claimed that M🙈oyes would be open to a 💧return to West Ham as their boss again.

David Sullivan and West Ham board’s stance on bringing David Moyes back as manager

Moye🔯s has already had two spe꧂lls as West Ham’s manager.

The Scot first spent six months in the 2017/18ꦬ season before returning for a longer spell in December 2019. He managed 230 games in his second sti🌼nt and did a decent job.

Moyes even led West Ham to a European Cup in 2023. That was an incredible achievement, but his time at the London Stadium came to a꧂n end just a year later.

After Lopetegui’s terrible start to life as West Ham’s boss and 😼speculation about his future started doing the rounds, claimed that Moyes would be open to a return to West Ham for a third 🀅spell.

Now, have revealed David Sullivan and t🦋he board’s stance o🐓n the Scot.

The report claims that Sullivan is ‘not on course’ to bring🅺 Moyes back to the club. The decision-makers at the London Stadium are ‘prioritising other targets’ at this moment in time.

So, as things stand, Moyes 𝔍will not be returning to the London Stadiu♛m if Lopetegui is sacked.

TBR Football revealed recently that West Ham have made no contact with Moyes. The Scot’s m♌ost likely destination is understood to be Everton if Sean Dyche is shown the door before the end of the season.

What West Ham’s board want Lopetegui to do if he wants to stay as manager

Lopetegui’s future remains up in the air despite West Ham’s win over Wolves on Monday.

The Spaniard is still ⛦in danger of facing the sack, but Sullivan and the Iron𓆉s board are holding off for now and are set to give their manager a chance to save himself.

GMS claim that West Ham’s upcoming Premier League games against Bournemouth, Brighton and So♋uthampton𒀰 ‘have been pinpointed as an opportunity to see whether Lopetegui is capable of enjoying an upturn in fortunes’.

Good results in those three games before Christmas could be enough for Lopetegui to keep his ✱job, but beating two of those three sides – Bournemouth and Brighton – is easier said than done.

To add to that, West Ham’s board also want Lopetegui to💝 repair relationships with key players like Mohammed Kudus, Niclas Fullkrug and Jean-Clair Todibo.
