Chelsea could now make ‘magic’ £70m attacker their top left-wing target this summer as Arsenal circle

TBR Football can exclusively confirm the latest on the state of play involving Chelsea and Jamie Gittens, who is wanted by both the Blues and Arsenal.

Chelsea and Arsenal are both likely to be busy in the summer transfer window in pursuit of more strength in depth and in hope of more fruitful seasons next year.

Meanwhile, Jamie Gittens has done well for Borussia Dortmund this season, scoring 12 goals – including four in the Champions League – and claiming five assists.

Gittens is fast emerging as a target for multiple clubs ahead of the summer transfer window, and Chelsea are becoming especially keen on him.

Chelsea could make Jamie Gittens their top left-wing target this summer

TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey has confirmed that Chelsea are very keen on Gittens.

So much so, in fact, that they’re prepared to put him top of their list for left-wing transfer targets.

Chelsea ideally want a right-footed left-winger and, while they’re also keen on Nico Williams, they like Gittens a lot.

“There have been conversations,” Bailey exclusively told TBR Football. “Gittens wants to come back to the Premier League – he’s ready now. So it’s a real possibility.

“There have been talks about him recently, and it’s been progressing in recent weeks. He could very well be the one.”

Bailey also revealed that there has been some interest from Arsenal in the £70million-rated attacker, but as it stands Chelsea appear to be frontrunners.

TBR Football sources have confirmed that Gittens is open in terms of his future destination – he likes the idea of Chelsea, but also of Arsenal.

Who Chelsea could move on to accommodate Jamie Gittens

Chelsea could be set for numerous departures on the wing. Christopher Nkunku is going, and Joao Felix is also likely to leave.

As for Jadon Sancho, Chelsea are open to moving him on straight on if, as expected, he joins on a permanent basis from Manchester United, with a return to Dortmund a real possibility.

In addition, Mykhaylo Mudryk is unlikely to be available next season because of off-field issues, hence Chelsea’s desire to strengthen their ranks.

Pedro Neto’s playing well, but Chelsea want two top players in every position – and with Gittens being a “magic” talent, he’d be a good shout to also join the Blues.
