Villa were lacking real direction during Gerrard’s tenure, despite pushing the boat out in the transfer market.

In the space of just over a year, Emery has Villa fans dreaming of what may have seemed impossible just a few months ago.

Emery has rightfully earned plaudits for his work at Villa and they have been one of the best sides in the division so far this term.

Their home form has been incredible over the past few months, picking up 15 consecutive wins at Villa Park.
