What Arsenal were about to do after William Saliba red card before changing their minds
Arsenal will now be without William Saliba for the next three games.
The France international’s three-match suspension begins on Sunday against Liverpool, after he picked up a straight red card in last Saturday’s 2༒-0 defeat against Bournemouth.
Saliba was able to face Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday – as UEFA do not recogn🍃ise domestic suspensions – but he will now miss clashes against Liverpool, Preston and Newcastle.
Victory at the Emirates Stadium this weekend would put Arsenal within just one point of Liverpool in the Premier League.

William Saliba will undoubtedly be a huge loss for Mikel Arteta for the next three games, and it has now been reveale☂d how Arsenal reacted internally to the Frenchman’s dismissal.
Arsenal put together a video to help William Saliba appeal
A story from the now states that Arsenal analysts created a video montage of similar moments which did not result in a red card, as they prepared to lodge an appeal🐲 against the dismissal.
It is said t🍌hat an incident involving Tosin Adarabioyo in Liverpool’s 2-1 win over Chelsea on Sunday was likely to be included in the footage.
The Chelsea No.4 found hims﷽elf isolated against Diogo Jota midway through the ope⭕ning 45 minutes at Anfield, but was only shown a yellow card as he was adjudged to have had enough teammates close by to not be considered the last man.

However, Arsenal eventually decided not to send the video to the Football Association, recognising that Saliba’♌s red card was always unlikely to be overturned.
It was probably a wise move from the Gunners to make that call, as the FA 🏅♎have previously been known to extend bans if they believe an appeal is frivolous.
Mikel Arteta may need to park the bus against Liverpool
As Jose Mourinho often did when he re🌼ဣalised his side were vulnerable to opponents running in behind, Arteta might need to park the bus at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

Arne Slot has overseen 11 wins f🐻rom 12 games in all competitions as Liverpool boss so far, with most of those victories involvin🃏g Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz causing chaos when darting inside opposition full-backs.
Arsenal would have been able to adopt a higher line on Sunday with Saliba, who Real Madrid want, involved – given his immense recovery speed – but Arteta will need to reconsider the dynamic of his side wit♐hout the Frenchmaꦿn available.
