Ben White says one Arsenal youngster has been outstanding in training

Arsenal defender Ben White has deemed Gabriel Martinelli a “very talented player”.

The Gunners centre-back, speaking to the , routinely sees how good the 20-year-old is in training.

Martinelli has had to bide his time under Mikel Arteta at the Emirates Stadium.

However, he’s now getting regular game time for Arsenal and is in incredible form.

Martinelli was in the starting XI for the first two Gunners games of the campaign.

However, in wake of Arsenal’s poor start to the campaign, Mikel Arteta dropped him to the bench.

Martinelli didn’t get a start for the Gunners until December, providing an assist against Manchester United.

Prior to the Old Trafford game, the £6million talent came off the bench against Newcastle and scored a superb volley.

Now, Martinelli has started five Premier League games in a row, and has three goals and one assist from his last three.

Fans and neutrals alike are starting to see how good the Brazilian is.

However, it’s no surprise for White, who admits he’s always known about Martinelli’s abilities.

“I see him every day, so it’s not really a surprise to me,” the defender.

“He’s a very talented player and that’s what we are all starting to see.”

Martinelli enjoyed a superb maiden season at Arsenal after joining from Ituano in 2019.

His 10 goals that season made him the first teenager since Nicolas Anelka to get into double figures for Arsenal.
