Ferdinand on Perisic

Ferdinand named his World Cup XI on his today, alongside Evra. But when the United legend selected Perisic as his left-back,🐭 it left Evra completely baffled.

“What? He’s not even a left-back,” Evra explaine✃d.

“What are you talking about Rio? You can’t say ꦫhe is in front𒀰 of Theo Hernandez for France and [Marcos] Acuna.”

Ferd⛎inand responded: “ꦗTheo Hernandez was the weakest link for France every game.”

“But he has been d꧅ecisive. He scored a goal and got three assists! We have to be careful w𓂃hen we talk about left-backs,” Evra replied.

T💦he Frenchman conceded that he agreed with Ferdinand’s comments about Hernandez’s defensive capabilities. But he feels his attacking qualities outweigh his weaknesses.

Ferdinand eventually gave in and allowed Evrཧa to pick the AC Milan star over Perisic after his contributions for France during their run to the final.

It was certainly a surprise to hear Ferdinand pick Perisic for t💫he left-back role, especially as he didn’t play in the position throughout thꦐe tournament.

Nevertheless, the Croatian star did enjoy a brilliant campaign and Antonio Conte will be hoping he can 💯produce similar performances when he returns to north L⛎ondon.

Perisic has been one of Tottenham’s most creative outlets this season, registering seven assists in 21 games. He’s achieved this without really hitting top form so far too, so you ge🅺t the feeling there is plenty more to come from him in a Spurs shirt.
