What Aaron Ramsdale was spotted doing before Arsenal v Southampton clash

On Saturday, Arsenal welcomed Aaron Ramsdale back to the Emirates Stadium for the first time since his summer move to Southampton.

The England international was the Gunners’ number one for two y𓄧ears, helping Mikel Arteta’s side go to the next level and making 89 appearances in all competitions.

However, Ramsdale lost his first-team place to David Raya last season, and he duly completed a move from Arsenal to the Saints over the summer.

The 26-year-old is now Southampton’s first-choice keepe🍃r, having made five Premier League appearances for the newly-promoted side.

Ramsdale didn’t have to wait long to renew acquaintances💜 with his former employers at Arsenal, thanks to the fixture calendar sending Sꦗouthampton to N5 in early October.

The Three Lions🉐 stopper gave a good account of himself against the Gunners and couldn’t really do much against the goals sco🍒red against him.

Ramsdale was seen embracing some of his form👍er colleagues at full-time, and now broadcaster Faye💙 Carruthers has shared what she saw him doing before the game.

Aaron Ramsdale ‘looked really pleased’ to be back at Arsenal

Carruthers, speaking on the Seaman Says podcast, said she was at the gℱame “really early” and noticed him speaking to Arsenal’s coaching staff and fans.

“I was at the game and actually theꦐ focus was on him (Ramsdale) right from the start,” she said.

“I got there r♚eally early, and he was out there really early with the Southampton players, talking to the Arsenal coaching staff, going around cha🍎tting to fans.

“(He) looked really pleased to be back, but it must have felt really weird for 💧him on another level.”

At the end of the game, Ramsdale embraced former c൲olleagues David Raya and Mikel Arteta.

He🌊 then got a standing ovation from the Clock End for giving his shirt to a young Southampton fan.

Everything has worked out well for all parties

Although it’s a shame that Ramsdale spent a year of his car💃eer effectively on the sidelines, it has worked out well for him in the end.

He’s now at another Premier League club, getting ౠregular football and working hard in pursuit of keepi🌊ng the Saints in the top flight.

Meanwhile, Arsenal were able to recoup a substantial amount of th꧟eir outlay on Ramsdale after having got a lot of great use out of him.

And last but not least, Southampton have a superb p☂layer on their hands who will hopefully make a huge difference in te༒rms of their hopes of staying up.
