‘What a player he’s going to be’: Some Spurs fans hail 23-year-old’s display v Burnley
A number of Spurs fans have waxed lyrical about Cristian Romero following his Carabao Cup masterclass on Wednesday.
Tottenham reached the quarter-finals of the competition thanks to a 1-0 win at Burnley.
It wasn’t the most inspiring of games, but Spurs got the job done and are in the hat for Saturday’s draw.

And Romero played a big part in helping Nuno Espirito Santo’s side keep a clean sheet and reach the last eight.
Spurs were up against one of the most physical sides in the Premier League, but the 23-year-old seemed to enjoy the battle.
He flew into tackles and blocks, made numerous clearances, won five aerial duels, and made plenty of accurate passes.
At the other end, Lucas Moura headed home in the 68th minute during a spell of Tottenham pressure.
A couple of Spurs players impressed on the night, and Romero earned plenty of praise from fans:
The more I watch Romero play for spurs, the more I love him. What a player

Will try and keep this positive, we did win & keep a clean sheet, after all!

– Romero is something else. What a player he is going to be.
– Skipp was really good. Unlucky to be taken off ahead of Højbjerg tonight.
– Though Emerson had a really good second half.
Romero for the Spurs is a superstar… and with Sanchez they are good! Amen nice work. Keep Dier on the bench.

idk what is going to happen this season in general, but I have seen enough where I am very happy we signed Romero and Royal. Great signings

Romero is by far our best player and first name on the sheet

Romero was class. Ndombele ran about a lot. Which was nice. Better team one. Not a classic. Think that covers it

Spurs are joined in the last-eight draw by Leicester, Liverpool, Brentford, West Ham, Arsenal, Chelsea and Sunderland.
