‘What a joke’ – Wolves fans incredulous after Ben Foster’s ‘salty’ comments following major blunder
Watford goalkeeper Ben Foster was keen to apportion the blame after his howler cost his side against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Foster came rushing out to collect a lofted Ruben Neves pass but misjudged the flight to allow Diogo Jota to tap in from close-range.
Jota’s goal in the 77th minute proved to be the difference but Foster blamed other factors for the goal.
The 36-year-old pointed to the swirling wind as the reason for his gaffe. And he also accused Neves of “lumping” the ball rather than meaning to place that pass in Jota’s path.

It is not the first high-profile Foster mistake in recent weeks. His blunder against Arsenal was also costly as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang closed him down and deflected the ball into the net.
Wolves fans took to Twitter to laugh at Foster’s comments and celebrate moving four points clear of Watford.
The seventh spot is now firmly in their grasp ahead of the final two games of the season. And they made sure to let Foster know about that.
Here are some of the best tweets about Foster’s ‘salty’ post-match comments.
Ahahahaha Ben foster salty af. Labelling that beautiful pass from Neves as a hoof forward that got caught in the wind is astonishing. Assist of the season from the wind.

Love the way Ben Foster says Neves, ‘sort of lumped the ball’ – NO!! – a pin-point pass to from the genius that is . Our Ruben doesn’t ‘lump the ball’

Ben Foster saying Neves “lumped” the ball forward, “it’s the winds fault”.
What a joke the only wind I around is the the guff coming from his mouth.
Be gracious in defeat Watford, don’t say stupid stuff, your in a cup final for God’s sake— steve berridge (@Scotwolf2Steve)
Imagine saying Ruben Neves lumped the ball into the box and not thinking it was a pin point pass. Obviously didn’t do your homework very well Mr Foster

Considering Fosters love for the Albion (couldn’t get out quick enough when they went down), pretty generous of him to gift us 3pts yesterday and to chuck one in against Arsenal in race for 7th. Top man is Ben
