‘We’ve been pleased’: Manager issues glowing report on ‘very talented’ Spurs on-loan attacker
Tottenham Hotspur loanee Jack Clarke is currently away from Spurs on loan and is progressing nicely.
The 20-year-old joined Tottenham in the summer of 2019 for a reported £10million after shining at Leeds.
He returned to Elland Road on loan, only for that stint to be cut short due to a lack of game time.
Clarke then moved to Queens Park Rangers at the start of last year but he struggled for game time once again, making just seven appearances, six of those off the bench.
The youngster stayed at Tottenham in the first half of the 2020-21 season as Jose Mourinho wanted him to develop under his tutelage.
In January, he moved to Stoke City, and to date he has made 10 Championship appearances, four of which have been starts, and has registered one assist.
“Jack is a young player we brought to the club and he’s been involved in every game essentially,” Potters boss Michael O’Neill told the .
He came out of the team after Norwich and the team won the next two games so he had to be patient. He came into both those games off the bench.
“On Saturday we changed the system so that was tactical.
“We’ve been pleased with what Jack’s contribution has been. There are areas he has to improve on still but he’s a very talented young player.
“In terms of being out on loan, he’s played more minutes than he has on previous loans so he’s still adapting a little bit.
“But he’s a young player we’re looking at between now and the end of the season to have an impact because you’d like to think that was a situation we could revisit next year on a longer-term basis.
“Jack just has to be patient and when he does get an opportunity make sure he does enough to stay in the team or force me to start him in the next game.”

Clarke was superb for Leeds during his time on their books, prompting Spurs to sign him, and after some setbacks in his first season in North London, he’s now kicking on nicely.
For O’Neill to suggest he wants to snap him up again for next season shows how well he’s been doing, and Mourinho will be pleased with his ongoing development in Staffordshire.
