West Ham United have completed the signing of Morocco centre-back Nayef Aguerd from Ligue 1 side Rennes for .
The Hammers have signed the 26-year-old left-sided defender on a five-year contract and Aguerd becomes David Moyes’ first signing in the summer transfer window.
The £30m transfer fee sees Aguerd become the fourth most expensive player the Hammers have signed, behind only Sebastian Haller, Felipe Anderson and Kurt Zouma.
After reaching last season’s Europa League semi-finals and finishing seventh in the Premier League – the signing of Aguerd is an early statement of intent by the Hammers in the transfer window.
