West Ham’s Pedro Obiang must step up with Jack Wilshere back in the picture
West Ham United midfielder Pedro Obiang could be at risk of losing his place in Manuel Pellegrini’s starting XI.
The Spaniard has been a relative mainstay for the Irons this term, making eight appearances in the Premier League so far.
He’s missed a handful of games through injury, but otherwise he’s been heavily involved.

The 2015 signing from Sampdoria hasn’t pulled up any trees though, registering just one assist so far.
Last weekend’s match against Manchester City was billed as the return of Jack Wilshere.
The Englishman wasn’t risked though and wasn’t included in the matchday squad. .
Obiang must step up
With Wilshere back, it’s going to be vital for Obiang to start impacting games a bit more.
So far, he has done very little.
One has to assume that Declan Rice will play more or less every game as the holding midfielder, and Mark Noble carries the responsibility of being captain.
So realistically there is only one spot that’s up for grabs.

Obiang needs to find another gear, with Wilshere surely itching to get back playing after a lengthy absence with an ankle injury.
The ex-Arsenal player hasn’t featured since the 1-0 defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers back in September.
