West Ham’s Felipe Anderson has it all to do after the international break

West Ham United need a turnaround after the international break before things get messy.

The Hammers are on a run of seven games without a win, and Manuel Pellegrini is starting to come under a bit of pressure.

It’s been a very disappointing past couple of months for the club, who were presented with several ‘favourable’ fixtures.

The club are now down to 16th in the Premier League table, although given how tight things are they are actually only four points off Sheffield United in fifth.

Several players need to step things up after the international break, none more so than Felipe Anderson who has really struggled to make an impact in recent weeks.

TBR’s view – People expect more of Anderson

Anderson, 26, has made four assists this season but is yet to find the net himself which will be bitterly disappointing for him.

Expectations are high for Anderson to be better than he was last term, but so far in 2019/20 he hasn’t made much of an impact.

He will exhilarate in glimpses and his tracking back is appreciated, but he simply hasn’t shown enough consistency.

With his 2018 transfer costing a total of £42 million (), it is fair for fans to expect more than what they’re currently seeing from the South American.
