West Ham’s Conor Coventry shares what Viborg coach came up and said to him at full-time last night
West Ham United midfielder Conor Coventry has shared what Viborg’s coach told him at full-time last night.
“I was just speaking to one of their coaches and he said their fans are really good and they’re so passionate to be here and you can see that.

“It made for a good spectacle to see them there and I’m looking forward to a different environment, different atmosphere and I can only learn from it.”
It’s sure to be an interesting evening for the Hammers in their first ever competitive away match against a Danish side.
West Ham taking a two-goal lead into the second leg could allow David Moyes to rest a few players, but he won’t want to take anything for granted, especially in what could be quite an intimidating atmosphere.
Coventry shared Viborg coach’s comments
West Ham’s return to European competition last night was a successful one, as they started their first Europa Conference League campaign.
Gianluca Scamacca converted his hard work in training into his first Hammers goal to open the scoring.
Last season’s top scorers Jarrod Bowen and Michail Antonio scored the other goals, but Jakob Bonde Jensen did pull one back for Viborg to introduce some jeopardy to the second leg.

It was a good opportunity for Moyes to give youngsters Coventry and Harrison Ashby a first-team run out, Angelo Ogbonna a chance to step up his recovery from a long-term injury and Maxwel Cornet his first Hammers start.
New signing Thilo Kehrer was also brought off the bench to make his West Ham debut after his move from Paris Saint-Germain, and after a stuttering start to their league campaign, West Ham have picked up their first win of the season.
Moyes will be hoping his side can carry this confidence boost into their next Premier League game, when Graham Potter’s Brighton visit the London Stadium.
Several players, including Coventry, have made a case to be involved in the league, and Moyes now has a few days to potentially make more difficult decisions.
