West Ham: Zaza exit in jeopardy; Bundesliga striker wanted; move for Xhaka

Simone Zaza was reported to be nearing confirmation of an exit from the London Stadium, with a deal almost complete to take him to Valencia, say , but that could now have all been thrown into jeopardy as Valencia manager Cesare Prandelli shocked bosses at the club by resigning two days before the transfer window opens.

The Italian was leading the efforts to bring Zaza to Spain and it is now unclear whether or not the club will progress with the deal for Zaza or abandon it, potentially meaning that he would remain at West Ham as Juventus will not cancel the deal without another suitor ready to take him off their hands for £17 million.

The club have also been linked with another striker from Bundesliga’s surprise outfit, Red Bull Leipzig. Germany under 21 international Davie Selke has found his opportunities limited this campaign with just one start as his team have risen to second place ahead of the winter break and may now consider a move to West Ham with Stoke also interested according to .

The 21-year-old broke the German Second Division’s transfer record when he joined Leipzig from Werder Bremen for £6.8 million in 2015 despite having scored nine goals in 30 games as he broke into the first team for his former club in the top flight.

Another target is reported to be Taulant Xhaka, brother of Arsenal midfielder Granit, say the . They claim that Slaven Bilic has been made aware of the 25-year-old’s availability for just £4 million in the January transfer window.

The holding midfielder has a similar style to his brother as a tough tackling player who never gives up, and he may now be tempted to depart Basel and follow in the footsteps of his brother in moving to the Premier League.
