West Ham United must be pleased they missed out on Andre Zambo Anguissa as £30m flops so far

In the summer, Fulham spent big to sign Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa from Marseille. As , the central midfielder cost the Cottagers a fee in the region of £30 million, a club record.

It was seen as a top transfer for the newly promoted side, with several other Premier League sides said to be keen.

West Ham United also wanted the player. They claimed that the Hammers registered a last-minute interest in the player. However, it was too late, and Fulham got their man.

Currently, in hindsight, West Ham fans will be pleased they missed out on the player.

Anguissa has struggled to live up to expectations at Craven Cottage.

He was sent off, admittedly in harsh circumstances, against Manchester United yesterday. However, his form has also been a problem. Fulham have not won a Premier League game in which he has started, a record that continued yesterday.

The Cameroonian would not appear to have been a big boost for West Ham, who have allowed Declan Rice to thrive in his and any other options place.

A dodged bullet perhaps, especially at £30 million.
