West Ham testing the waters for ‘dangerous’ Spain international

West Ham United have been busy on the transfer front this summer, with three signings over the line and a few more potentially in the pipeline.

The Hammers hit the ground running in the window by signing Luis Guilherme, Wes Foderingham and Max Kilman.

West Ham are reportedly closing in on a fourth summer signing in Crysencio Summerville, who shouldn’t be too far off if all goes well.

There have also been links between the Hammers and Borussia Dortmund striker Niclas Fullkrug in recent days.

Needless to say, West Ham are seemingly looking to provide new manager Julen Lopetegui with all the tools he needs to hit the ground running.

Now, according to a report from France, the Hammers have set their sights on a Spain international midfielder.

West Ham set sights on Carlos Soler

The player in question is Carlos Soler, who has had to make do with a squad rotation role at Paris Saint-Germain of late.

According to , the Spaniard is a candidate to leave PSG this summer and the Premier League is suggested as a potential destination for him.

West Ham and Brighton are said to be ‘testing the waters’ for Soler, while Aston Villa reportedly failed with a move for the 27-year-old in January.

The Villans were also linked with Soler back in May, although they’ve since signed Amadou Onana, Enzo Barrenechea and Ross Barkley in midfield.

Who is West Ham target Carlos Soler?

Carlos Soler is a 27-year-old midfielder who plies his trade for Paris Saint-Germain and represents Spain at international level.

He made a name for himself at Valencia, earning himself a £17million move to the French capital in 2022.

However, Soler hasn’t managed to cement a place in the starting XI and, as such, his future at the club is in doubt.

Jaime Fernandez Valencia of scouting outlet described him as a ‘great passer’ who’s ‘sometimes even more dangerous than the strikers’.

Soler played for Spain at the 2022 World Cup but hasn’t featured for La Roja since then.
