West Ham should try join the hunt for defender Thomas Meunier

West Ham are currently 10th-placed in the Premier League table as it stands and are on course for an average campaign unless results drastically improve.

But Manuel Pellegrini’s squad should be pushing right for the European spots and are perhaps just a couple of signings away next summer from doing so.

There are a couple of key positions that the Hammers need to invest in and the right-back area is one of them.

Pablo Zabaleta is an ageing full-back that can’t have a long-term future at the London Stadium, while promising talent Ryan Fredericks is still searching for consistency.

, French champions PSG don’t consider Meunier to be an important part of their plans moving forward and could offload him at the end of the season.

The report details that Everton are interested in a swoop for the 27-year-old flyer, who is renowned for his pace and attacking qualities from right-back.

But West Ham should make an ambitious swoop themselves for the Champions League defender and try to add him to their ranks over their Premier League counterparts.

Meunier is a quality full-back with four goals and six assists in just 23 appearances this campaign in all competitions.

The Belgium international would certainly become the number one right-back if he linked up with Pellegirni’s squad and moving for him if he becomes available should be a no-brainer for West Ham.
