West Ham should target Elneny as an Obiang replacement
According to , West Ham United have put a price tag of £10 million on Pedro Obiang. Both Bologna and Sassuolo are credited with interest in signing the midfielder this summer. Should either of the Serie A clubs meet the Hammers’ valuation, then the 27-year-old could find himself heading to Italy ahead of the new season.
Obiang is not a vital member of Manuel Pellegrini’s starting XI. The Irons should not shy away from moving him on this summer. However, Obiang’s exit would leave a gap in the squad at the London Stadium. The funds raised from his sale would likely have to be invested into his replacement.

If the east London club say goodbye to Obiang this summer, then they should move to bring Mohamed Elneny to the club in his stead. The Arsenal midfielder would represent an upgrade on Obiang. The 75-cap Egypt international has plenty of quality and could compete for a place in the Hammers’ midfield.
The 27-year-old is currently surplus to requirements for the Gunners. Unai Emery would likely be willing to allow the midfielder to leave at a reasonable price. As a replacement for Obiang then, Elneny would be ideal as he represents an improvement.
