West Ham should gatecrash interest in Weston McKennie

Manuel Pellegrini is assembling a strong group of players together at West Ham that should have aspirations of sneaking into the European spots this season, but they are just trying to find consistency.

There is certainly some talented individuals at the London Stadium and they just need a couple of fresh faces to really push them on.

One area the Hammers could do with strengthening is in midfield, where Declan Rice seems to be the only ever-present.

West Ham could do with another all-action central midfielder to compete with Mark Noble and Pedro Obiang for a spot in the starting XI.

Pellegirni’s team should plot a move for FC Schalke’s Weston McKennie, who is reportedly already on the radar of an English club.

, Liverpool are interested in the 20-year-old midfielder and are considering a £20million offer in January.

But West Ham should take a closer look at him and they would find somebody potentially a perfect fit for Pellegrini’s team.

McKennie is a central midfielder that is a first teamer for Schalke and also a senior USA international.

The 20-year-old is a highly-rated talent with immense potential and already has some good experience in the Bundesliga at his age.

He’s got the versatility to play in defence or midfield due to his strength and he could be a better option in the long-term that Obiang, who is guilty of inconsistent displays for West Ham.
