West Ham should consider Lemina swoop following sale of Obiang

Mario Lemina appears unlikely to stay at Southampton this summer – and West Ham United should consider making a move.

The midfielder has recently been linked with a move to Arsenal and Manchester United, although those links have gone cold in recent days.

that Wolverhampton Wanderers have joined the hunt, with Nuno Espirito Santo keen to snap up a new central midfielder before the window shuts.

Apparently there is also interest from France, Italy and Spain in the former Juventus star.

Lemina has been at St. Mary’s since 2017. While he has impressed in flashes, he has struggled to be consistent and injuries have often hindered him.

With Wolves now reportedly in the frame, West Ham should think about getting involved.

The Hammers have just sold Pedro Obiang, who has returned to Serie A with Sassuolo.

Manuel Pellegrini now has just four experienced midfield options in Declan Rice, Mark Noble, Carlos Sanchez and Jack Wilshere.

Realistically the Chilean could do with an extra body, and Lemina could be a good signing.

Noble and Sanchez are both over the age of 30 and Wilshere’s injury struggles have been well documented over the years.

Lemina wants out at Southampton (), and the Irons now have an extra £7.2 million generated by the Obiang sale () to put towards a deal.
