West Ham should address problem position and target Chelsea star Emerson
West Ham United should consider testing the waters over Chelsea’s Emerson Palmieri.
The 2018 signing from AS Roma has failed to establish himself at Stamford Bridge after being signed by Antonio Conte a year ago.

The Brazilian-born Italian is still behind Marcos Alonso in the pecking order, and has made 18 appearances for the Blues – most of which have been from off the bench.
This term under new boss Maurizio Sarri, Emerson has featured 11 times but only twice as a substitute in the Premier League.
that Emerson is the subject of interest from Italian champions Juventus and Atletico Madrid.

If Chelsea are willing to let Emerson leave this month, then West Ham ought to throw their hat into the mix.
Problem position for West Ham
Although West Ham have been going well so far under Manuel Pellegrini in his first season in charge, the Irons have not been without issues.
Left-back appears to be a weak position, with neither Arthur Masuaku or Aaron Cresswell having made it their own.
Pellegrini has alternated the pair a lot this season, suggesting that he is not totally happy with the options at his disposal.

Interestingly, Emerson has achieved a high average rating of 7.57 across his five Europa League outings this season ().
That’s where he’s played most of his football. Unfortunately for him, he doesn’t see much pitch time in the league.
With Sarri harshly refusing to drop the underwhelming Alonso for him, West Ham should make a loan enquiry with an option to buy. He’d clearly needs a change of environment and the Hammers need to address their problem position.
