West Ham playmaker Pablo Fornals can recover from slow start
Pablo Fornals was one of the exciting signings made by West Ham in the summer transfer window, but he’s had a slow start to life at the London Stadium.
The Hammers paid £24million () to bring him in from La Liga club Villarreal and he arrived off the back of winning the Under-21s European Championship with Spain in the summer.
Fornals is an attacking midfielder that prefers a central role behind the striker, but can play in wide areas too with his pace and trickery.
The 23-year-old dazzled in the summer with Spain and enjoyed a strong campaign with Villarreal last year too.
But it’s not been a smooth transition to English football and he’s yet to show his best for Manuel Pellegrini’s side.
It’s not quite happened for the playmaker yet in the Premier League and he’s been restricted to late substitute appearances in the last two games.
But it’s far too early to write him off and it would be no surprise to see him bounce back stronger after the International break.
Fornals is certainly a dangerous that can add some extra attacking flair to the side and did manage to score in a Carabao Cup win over League Two outfit Newport County.
He now needs to focus on seizing any opportunities he gets in the league to break back into the team and that should start away to Aston Villa after the break.
Fornals has the technical ability to make impacts similar to teammates Felipe Anderson and Manuel Lanzini, so he is definitely one to keep an eye out on as he settles into his West Ham career.
