West Ham offered chance to sign ‘world class’ Chelsea player before deadline day
- EXCLUSIVE from Graeme Bailey
West Ham United have enjoyed a really productive summer transfer window and their business isn’t finished just yet.
West Ham have outlaid £122m on eight signings so far, which shows Julen Lopetegui is really receiving the backing of the board.
Lopetegui is still thought to be in the market for further reinforcements and now TBR Football can confirm that they’ve been offered the chance to sign a Chelsea player before deadline day on August 30.

Chelsea set to leave Raheem Sterling out of Premier League squad
TBR Football understands that Chelsea have told Raheem Sterling that they are set to leave him out of their Premier League squad – which is a major reason the England international is now ready to leave the club.
Sterling already knew since the turn of the year that the club’s hierarchy was looking to move him on, but he did not believe it would get to the point that he would be sidelined.
However, it has now reached that point.
TBR can reveal that his people are holding talks with various parties and one club that has a potential opening is Juventus – as they want to bring in a couple of wingers.
However, it is believed that Sterling’s preference is to remain in England and ideally London, but that does narrow down his options.
West Ham United, Crystal Palace and Newcastle potential destinations for Raheem Sterling
One club who Chelsea had spoken to about Sterling earlier this summer was Crystal Palace as they offered him as part of a deal for Michael Olise – but the player opted for Bayern Munich.
But Palace do have an interest and with Chelsea willing to cover the ‘vast majority’ of his wages – there is a possibility he could move across the capital to Selhurst Park.
West Ham were another to show interest earlier in the summer, and they are also being spoken to – indeed TBR can confirm that Sterling’s people are making almost every Premier League club aware of his availability.
Newcastle United have also discussed Sterling, who’s been labelled ‘world class’ per the , in recent weeks along with Noni Madueke, Trevoh Chalobah and Axel Disasi.
