West Ham now set to sign £15m player in the next few hours

West Ham have been looking for a new striker all January long.

Evan Ferguson was linked with West Ham at one point, while Andre Silva was a West Ham target too.

Brian Brobbey looked set for West Ham earlier this week, but now, it looks like the Hammers have gone in another direction.

Indeed, it looks as though West Ham have finally found their man, as according to reports in Portugal, the Hammers are set to secure a signing in the next few hours.

West Ham have plenty of work to do before the transfer deadline on Monday, but it now looks like a new striker is on his way.

West Ham set to sign Artur Cabral

According to , West Ham are set to sign Artur Cabral from Benfica.

The Brazilian is Benfica’s number nine, and he’s set to join West Ham in an €18m (£15m) deal.

The Hammers have been scouring the market for a new striker all month long, and now, they have found their man.

Unfortunately, Cabral isn’t in the best of form at the moment, as his stats show.

However, West Ham will be hoping that the Brazilian can improve upon arriving in England.

Former Benfica striker’s records in England

Benfica are set to sell Cabral to West Ham, and this isn’t the first time we’ve seen a former Benfica forward arrive on these shores.

Indeed, we’ve seen plenty of attackers make the move from Lisbon to the Premier League in recent years, and, unfortunately for West Ham, they don’t all pan out too well.

Darwin Nunez has been heavily criticised since joining Liverpool and has failed to establish himself at Anfield.

Meanwhile, Joao Felix may be sold by Chelsea just six months after arriving on a permanent deal.

Carlos Vinicius is out of favour at Fulham, while his loan spell at Spurs was equally frustrating.

Perhaps the best former Benfica striker to grace the Premier League in recent years is Raul Jimenez, and West Ham will be hoping that Cabral can follow in his footsteps rather than being the next Carlos Vinicius.
