West Ham now interested in signing ‘unbelievable’ Manchester United player on loan for Graham Potter

TBR Football have now received information on whether West Ham are keen to sign Marcus Rashford on loan from Manchester United for Graham Potter.

After Julen Lopetegui was sacked on Wednesday afternoon, the Hammers have swiftly announced the appointment of Graham Potter on a two-and-a-half year contract, who will hope to lift West Ham away from 14th in the Premier League.

With the 49-year-old now in place at the London Stadium, the Irons can begin to focus on bolstering the squad for him, after losing Jarrod Bowen and Michail Antonio to injuries in recent weeks.

At the same time, it has been well documented that Marcus Rashford could leave Manchester United on loan – with many clubs looking at the England international.

With West Ham in need of a striker, sources have now shared information with TBR Football regarding whether the east Londoners are interested in the 27-year-old.

West Ham are keen to sign Marcus Rashford from Manchester United

Graeme Bailey – Chief Correspondent at TBR Football – has now been told West Ham have thrown their hat in the ring to sign Rashford.

We understand there has been no suggestion of a permanent deal being agreed, although the Hammers are interested in taking the Manchester United No.10 on loan.

Sources have also informed TBR Football that the Red Devils would need to cover most of the forward’s £325,000-a-week salary for any loan deal to materialise, three quarters of it to be exact.

West Ham are willing to offer Rashford, who Harry Kane admires, regular first-team football, although competition for his signature is fierce.

TBR Football are aware that both AC Milan and Inter Milan, as well as Napoli, Juventus, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and PSG have all spoken to intermediaries about a deal.

Marcus Rashford record against West Ham

Rashford – who Alan Shearer called “unbelievable” – has a decent record against West Ham over the years, so it should come as no surprise to hear that the Hammers like him.

The Manchester-born striker has scored five goals and provided four assists in 22 appearances against West Ham throughout his career, ending up on the winning side 12 times in these games, suffering only six defeats.

Of course, there has already been an instance of an unsettled Manchester United player finding joy on loan at West Ham in Jesse Lingard – who impressively scored nine goals and assisted another four in just 16 Premier League appearances for the Hammers, so perhaps Rashford could do likewise if a deal materialises.
