West Ham must keep top players such as Anderson to continue progression
West Ham are not willing to let record signing Felipe Anderson leave the club this summer,
They that Real Madrid have Anderson in their sights in case they fail to land primary target Eden Hazard in the forthcoming transfer window, but the Hammers wish to stand firm.
Anderson is valued in the at £70m, but not even that sum of money would be enough to prize him away from the London Stadium, as West Ham ‘will not entertain the possibility’ of letting him leave.
The also reveals that West Ham are in a strong position, as Anderson has three years remaining on the contract he signed with the club last summer – with the option for an extra year on top – and the Brazilian is happy, with no intention of forcing a move.
Along with the likes of Declan Rice, Anderson is the type of player West Ham can ill afford to lose if they want to continue the progression they’ve made under Manuel Pellegrini this season.
It will also be a boost that Anderson remains happy at the club and is not looking to force a move like previous talisman Dimitri Payet and Marko Arnautovic have done in the past.
And with the money sloshing around the Premier League, even £70m shouldn’t be enough to get the player, if West Ham want to press on and establish themselves as a top eight side on a regular basis.
