West Ham must avoid another Payet situation with Arnautovic
West Ham United striker Marko Arnautovic is reportedly the subject of interest from an unnamed Chinese club.
That club has lodged a bid of £35 million for the striker.
Arnautovic has been a great form once again for the Hammers this season, scoring eight Premier League goals despite a couple of injuries.

The Austrian has proven to be a hugely important player for the club since his summer switch from Stoke City in 2017.
He now holds almost talismanic status at the club, and the Irons have already rejected the offer from the Far East.
The club are adamant he will not be sold this transfer window (), but they must now monitor the player’s situation very carefully.
West Ham don’t need another Payet saga
Two years ago, West Ham were forced to sell then-talisman Dimitri Payet to Marseille, with the situation turning ugly in parts.

The egotistical Frenchman refused to play for the club in order to secure his return back to Marseille.
West Ham cannot let the same happen with Arnautovic, who also has something of an ego.
That ego has steadily been fed over the past couple of months, .
Arnautovic’s brother and agent name-dropped Chelsea and Everton before that .

West Ham need to ensure they aren’t going to be messed about by another senior star – perhaps an improved contract might be the way to go, as Arnautovic is a massive player who could genuinely help the club realise its ambitions.
