West Ham make contact to sign £8.6m player who is a ‘fierce attacker’
West Ham have been busy in the transfer market this summer – although Julen Lopetegui and Tim Steidten are not done yet.
West Ham are still in talks to sign Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Manchester United, having already signed Max Kilman, Luis Guilherme, Crysencio Summerville and Niclas Fullkrug.
The Hammers also bid £30m for Youssouf Fofana – although the Frenchman is hoping to join AC Milan.
Now – however – West Ham have made contact about another signing as a new name enters the scene…
West Ham make Caio Henrique enquiry
A story from in Brazil now claims that West Ham have made contact with Monaco to ask about Caio Henrique.
The Brazilian news outlet add that Nottingham Forest are also keen to sign the left-back.
UOL believe West Ham are yet to make an offer to Monaco or Henrique himself, and are simply exploring what it would take to sign the South American at this stage.
It is not made clear how Monaco responded to the enquiry, although UOL state that the 27-year-old is not planning to force an exit, and is happy to remain with the Ligue 1 outfit.

The Brazil international missed almost the entirety of last season due to a torn cruciate ligament, but did impressively managed to register five assists in the nine appearances he made before the injury occurred.
It is these technical skills that led Smarter Scout to Henrique as a “fierce attacker” who thrives when on the ball, while also being “an extraordinary tackler” up against opposition forwards.
Replacement for Aaron Cresswell
Most top sides have two options in each position nowadays.
At left-back, that is the case for West Ham as Lopetegui can call upon Emerson Palmieri or Aaron Cresswell, although the latter could be sold.
The West Ham No.3 turns 35 in December and sees his contract expire within 11 months, so if he is not offloaded for a fee this summer, he is likely to depart in 2025 regardless.

Therefore, Henrique may be viewed as a replacement for Cresswell, to ensure Emerson has competition in the left-back department.
