West Ham fail with bid to sign £12m gem likened to Paul Pogba who Graham Potter admires
TBR Football understand West Ham made a bid to sign Ezechiel Banzuzi from OH Leuven – but it was unsuccessful.
The Hammers are looking for a new striker ahead of the February 3rd transfer deadline after losing Michail Antonio, Niclas Fullkrug and Jarrod Bowen to serious injuries.

In the meantime – however – sources now inform TBR Football that West Ham have submitted a bid to sign a central midfielder in Ezechiel Banzuzi.

We understand Graham Potter admires Banzuzi and approved the offer – which OH Leuven have rejected having deemed it to be far below what they value the Dutchman at.

Banzuzi has made 21 appearances in the Jupiler Pro League so far this season – scoring one goal while providing five assists from central midfield.

Banzuzi is also a versatile talent, as he can operate in a deeper No.6 role, but also perform well in a more advanced midfield position.
Furthermore, it speaks volumes that the Zwijndrecht-born midfielder already has four caps for the Netherlands U21 side, despite being just 19 years of age.
