West Ham have just met club’s £30m asking price for player Kylian Mbappe called ‘incredible’
West Ham have now submitted a £30m bid which meets the asking price – although there is still a long way to go until a total agreement is reached.
The Hammers clearly have more money to spend despite already splashing a total of £66m on Max Kilman and Luis Guilherme this summer.
So, who have West Ham now offered £30m to sign? Let’s take a look…
West Ham submit Youssouf Fofana bid
A story from now states that West Ham have offered Monaco €35m (£30m) for Youssouf Fofana.
The France international has also just been the subject of a €17m (£14m) bid from AC Milan, according to the French news outlet.
L’Equipe believe Monaco have rejected AC Milan’s bid for Fofana, although the Italian giants had already agreed personal terms with the midfielder before approaching the Ligue 1 outfit.
West Ham have not agreed a contract with the Frenchman yet, instead opting to handle negotiations in the traditional manner by approaching the club first.

L’Equipe do not specifically state that Monaco have accepted West Ham’s bid, although the French news outlet declare that the sum meets the asking price, so it will be interesting to see if Fofana engages in discussions with the east Londoners, or stays committed to his agreement with AC Milan.
France international would be a real coup for Julen Lopetegui
If Tim Steidten – Director of Football at the London Stadium – can get this deal done, it would be a real statement.
Fofana is statistically one of the best passers of the ball in European football, while Cesc Fabregas – who played with him at Monaco – believes he has the aggression and physique needed to deal with the rigours of Premier League football.
The Spaniard said: “A very dynamic, strong player, good on the ball, a modern type of player, aggressive, can jump, he’s box to box. I really like Fofana and I think he fits the Premier League style very well.”

Even Kylian Mbappe has described Fofana as an “incredible” player.
At the age of just 25, West Ham could secure themselves a top central midfielder for the foreseeable future, and for a reasonable fee, if Steidten gets this £30m deal over the line.

Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as West Ham still need to agree personal terms with Fofana if Monaco accept the £30m bid.
