West Ham have bid accepted to land Julen Lopetegui’s fourth summer signing

West Ham United have now had a loan bid accepted for a defender who could be intended as Max Kilman’s centre-back partner next season.

Since Julen Lopetegui’s arrival, it’s been clear that West Ham will make significant changes to their back line.

TBR Football recently shared that both Kurt Zouma and Nayef Aguerd were for sale this summer, explaining why Kilman has arrived so early.

And although it would be a surprise if both left in the same summer – West Ham will entertain bids.

Otherwise, Konstantinos Mavropanos seems to be in Lopetegui’s plans, a player who has still only just begun his renaissance in the Premier League.

That being said, West Ham have been linked with a move for Jean-Clair Todibo this summer, who may have already joined Manchester United this summer were it not for UEFA’s multi-club ownership rules.

But that frustration could be to West Ham’s gain, and journalist has just shared on X that the Hammers have now had a bid accepted.

West Ham have Jean-Clair Todibo bid accepted but defender wants to join Juventus

The journalist shared that an agreement had been reached between Nice and West Ham for the east London club to loan ‘incredible‘ Todibo.

The deal would include a purchase option of €36m (£30m) that could be activated by Tim Steidten and his team at the end of the season.

However, Aouna declared that Todibo wants to join Juventus, and will wait for their approach.

He shared: “Agreement found between Nice and West Ham for Jean-Clair Todibo. Loan with purchase option of 36M € + bonuses.

“The Aiglons push the player to ACCEPT the offer but the defender wants to join Juventus

“JC gives priority to the sports project. Juve wants to make it their priority. Upcoming contacts between Juve and Nice.”

Therefore, it remains to be seen if West Ham will be able to get a deal over the line.

And on evidence of their first half showing against Ferencvaros earlier this week, Lopetegui could benefit from defensive additions.

That being said, Lopetegui has been impressed by Luis Guilherme so far – believing he may adapt quickly at the club.
