West Ham have £16m bid to sign ‘colossal’ midfielder rejected by club
West Ham have been one of the busiest teams in the summer transfer window, yet the east London aren’t done just yet when it comes to making new signings.
Having made a slew of impressing deals already this summer, West Ham are now interested in signing Tammy Abraham, with James Ward-Prowse also linked with a surprise move away from east London just one year after joining from Southampton.
With TBR Football also understanding that West Ham are interested in Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, the Hammers could still make one or two more signings as Julen Lopetegui looks to add as much quality to his squad as possible for the new season.
Yet one move for a rumoured target seems to have failed already for West Ham.

West Ham have £16m bid rejected for Palmeiras star Richard Rios
According to journalist Pipe Sierra, West Ham have seen a $22m (£16m) bid for Colombia international Richard Rios rejected by Palmeiras, with the Brazilian giants unwilling to offload the 24-year-old midfielder this summer.
Sierra wrote: “Palmeiras rejected $22m (£16m) from West Ham for Richard Rios (24). The Brazilian team said they did not want to negotiate his departure For now, there is no further progress from the London team.”
Lauded by as a ‘colossal’ midfielder, Rios was one of the breakout stars at this summer’s Copa America as the Palmeiras dynamo played a key role in Colombia’s unlikely run to the final, where they eventually lost to Argentina.
Yet with West Ham already signing one top prospect from Palmeiras this summer in Luis Guilherme, it makes sense why the Sao Paulo side is reluctant to let another player in Rios leave for east London, especially for a fee as low as £18m.

West Ham could do with one more signing this summer
West Ham have arguably had the most exciting window out of any team in the Premier League this summer, with the Irons backing Lopetegui to the hill and back and making some really impressive moves in the process.
And with three days of the window left to go, West Ham could benefit from one more signing ahead of what could be an exciting season for the Hammers and their new-look squad.
Indeed, Rios would have been quite a coup given how good the 24-year-old was at this summer’s Copa America, yet with that deal already dead in the water, West Ham must look elsewhere for that final season before the window closes on Friday.
