West Ham fans rip into Ryan Fredericks comments

Ryan Fredericks has urged West Ham to stick together amid a poor run of results – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter are fed up of hearing excuses from their players.

The Hammers were beaten 3-0 away to Burnley at the weekend in the Premier League, which means they sit 16th in the table during the international break.

Manuel Pellegrini’s team have picked up just two points from their previous six league games, as well as being dumped out of the Carabao Cup by League One side Oxford United.

Fredericks, 27, spoke after the Burnley defeat about what the London club need to do moving forward.

“We need to stick together. We’re not giving the fans much to sing about and be happy about at the moment, but they’re a loyal bunch of fans, we know that,”

“We get 60,000 turn up every week and credit to them. We’re not doing enough for them, but this is when we really need to stick together.”

A selection of West Ham supporters on social media raged at Fredericks’ comments and want a response on the pitch.

They have an opportunity to regroup during the next two weeks, but the upcoming fixtures look extremely tough on paper and the pressure is surely on manager Pellegrini.

The Hammers face Tottenham (home), Chelsea (away), Wolverhampton Wanderers (away) and Arsenal (home).

They are unlikely to pick up any points in those game unless their defence improve massively, as well finding more creativity in attack.
