West Ham fans react to performance of Ben Johnson during Monday win
West Ham United moved into Champions League contention with a superb 3-0 win over Sheffield United at the London Stadium. Afterwards, supporters were quick to praise emerging talent Ben Johnson.
The Hammers won the day courtesy of goals from Declan Rice, Issa Diop and Ryan Fredericks to move up to fourth place in the Premier League table.
David Moyes is doing a stunning job at West Ham and very few would have predicted such a brilliant campaign for the club.
Sunday sees the Hammers take on fierce rivals Tottenham and with Jose Mourinho’s men in poor form, there is a real opportunity for Moyes’ men.
Last night saw Johnson shine to the fore though with his excellent display really being appreciated by the club’s supporters.

The game against the Blades was his first start since the 27th December and he didn’t disappoint.
He operated in a wing-back role on the left-hand side and was brilliant throughout the clash.
Johnson is a product of the youth academy at West Ham and supporters are big fans of seeing their own players earn first-team opportunities.
The youngster will hope to kick on and earn more opportunities as the season progresses.
At 21, he has made 16 appearances for the Hammers and it’s fair to suggest that he should have perhaps played a few more games.
Here is what supporters were saying about the talented player after last night’s win.
Top player, really impressive in the last two games

I like him Dan going to be a top player

I’ve been calling for Johnson to get more of a look.
If we’re to play a false nine, it seems a back 3 with 2 wing backs will be the formation.
If so, Johnson must get the nod at LWB. He was superb.

Fantastic team performance tonight, but special shout-outs to Jesse Lingard, Ben Johnson and Issa Diop tonight.
Thought all three were absolutely brilliant. Nice to see Jarrod Bowen find the pass for Lingard to win the penalty too. Big improvement.
